Eentrepreneur project involving packaging design and user experience to improve our connection with the food we eat. Bread is one of the most significant creations within food history however what we buy today is very different from how it started. We have lost track of the ingredients in store bought food and this could be causing damage to our bodies. We want to recconect people with the original bread making methods and ingredients to enrich the experience of baking and increase health and awareness of what we put into our bodies.
Your average supermarket loaf contains 30 ingredients including emulsifiers and preservatives. Your traditional loaf only needs 3; Flour, water and yeast. These extra ingredients are shown to have linkes to higher liklihood of gluten intorerance.
The environmenal imapct of bread production also shows in Wellington alone, 3.6 million plastic bread bags are thrown out each year. Due to these added emulsifiers and preservatived bread is able to be stored in plastic however originally the ideal storage was using breathable reusable cloth.
